Will there be answers?

With Imelda Staunton, David Cann, Katherine Parkinson and one or two other very familliar faces, what's the special going to be like? Any thoughts?

Will there be answers?

Well, it's been three days and still noone has commented. Perhaps there aren't as many dedicated fans as I thought ;)

What does everyone think about the Hallowe'en Special? Will it answer any of the questions at the end of series 2, or will it be in a plot bubble, like the League of Gentlemen Christmas Special? Since it's also going to be a portmanteau film, I'm inclined to think it will follow the same pattern. Perhaps the stories about already exisiting characters will be set in the past, or within dreams? I bet it won't continue the main stories at all, but will just give us more to think about. Which would be cruel in the most enjoyable way possible :)

I am, but I didn't know what to write.

I think the Halloween Special will be similar to the League of Gentlemen Christmas Special and we won't get answers until Series 2.

Lord knows, but I don't spose there'll be another treasure hunt. That was the best bit.

I believe there's going to be "online content" (i.e. a treasure hunt!) for series 2. Although I can't remember where I read it. I suppose a stand-alone special doesn't lend itself so well as a series to following a string of clues.

You never know though, there might be a little summat online :?:

I'll let them off for the special, so long as the objective of (and conclusion to) the series 2 hunt is clearer than it was for series 1 — assuming that's the sort of online content they're talking about. If it was me, I'd be writing new material for the existing character sites (and adding a few new ones).

Can you lot think of any other ways they might play the online content card?

BTW welcome to the forum Charlotte! Or are you an oldie who forgot their password?

I'm kinda hoping it'll be a flashback to a Halloween at Ravenhill, I think they could make some great stuff out of that.

hi its "freddie fruitcake" (or Dr fruitcake to some thanks to my wacky theories and over thinking of plot XD) back with a new name!!!

first of all- thank god its comiong back on but im slightly depressed that when psychoville first apeared on the telly box i was firmly into my 6th form life...and by the time the halloween special comes on i will be a uni kid- depressing how quickly time flies.
Also sadly the site i also frequented "thisisalocalshop" is now closed down

errrrm dawn french is definitely going to be in the halloween special, but if she returns for the second series is yet to be confirmed..so we have atleast one more hour of joy to look forward to (to lazy to post a link to the website that had her confirmed) there was also a picture of her wearing a rather hideous multi coloured cardigan XD i would also like to know how people found out it was going to be in the same style as the LoG christmas special, or is this just speculation?

lastly my theory on whats going to happen- i think that the halloween special is going to be a flashback episode showing how each of the characters got put in Ravenhill- this is solely based on the fact that in the picture Joy looks very casual- no uniform, no marks etc. from her experience at the end of series 1..so yea thats what i think and i only hope that this site returns to its former glory filled with wild speculation and blatant insanity :D

Damn! Lost my reply somehow. Now I'll have to try and retype it from memory :( Here goes...

Fiona - Hi! I am indeed new to post here, although I've visited before and read all the comments. Who could resist :)
I'm not sure what there'll be online-contentwise. Obviously no time to play a game over weeks, but maybe they'll give us a clue or two for series 2? So far I'm not very impressed with the BBC website people though. I stumbled upon that blog holyofholies linked to, some time last week, and thought "Why am I signed up to the Psychoville update mailing list if they can't be bothered to let me know about summat as exciting as a new blog?" Seems kinda lazy. Plus i don't see why Reece should have to do the publicity all on his own. It's a shame for him ;)

freddy-returns - I thought it was a shame about the Local Shop site closing down too. I appreciate that it's a bit of a commitment maintaining a site like that, but surely they could've left it online as archive content? Now all those blogs, forum comments, news stories, screensavers and such are completely inaccessible. Seems a waste.
I saw that Dawn French picture too and I agree with you, it didn't seem like Joy was very traumatised/terrified. Which indicates either a while before or a while after the Ravenhill Bomb. And since anything afterward would potentially get in the way of series 2, I think it's another indication of a special set in the past.

Also, I saw a comment on another forum from someone who'd seen Reece a few weeks ago (while they were filming Series 2) in St Pancras Station dressed as Mr Jelly. So I guess it's pretty unlikely that he's dead. Not that I would've bet a lot on him being killed off :)

Unless of course Reece was just taking the tube dressed as a clown for his own personal reasons ;)

awww thats good..is it weird that i realy dont want Mrs Wren to have died  she played such a minor role and was only realy there to give Mr Jelly something to moan about but the line "I dont want raping thank you very much!" has been making me laugh ever since i heard it, i'm glad Mr Jelly isn't dead but i doubted he would be, if i had to pick one character of the main 5 to have definitely died in the explosion it would have to be either Lomax or Tealeaf because trying to put my mind in the place of a writer, there story pretty much ended when snappy got thrown back into the merky depths and to repeat this story again wouldnt be very entertaining...but i also hope its one of the minor characters like Nicola or Jennifer (but hopefuly not Mrs Wren XD) and thats the "funeral" the gents were refering to in their interview
